Join us in imagining how at risk youths can use drones, artificial intelligence and geospatial software to build their community's resilience
|
Our goal is to reduce the economic impact of wildfires, flooding, and hurricanes on some of the most vulnerable populations in Texas by training at risk high school students to use donated robots, artificial intelligence, and GIS software to routinely collect and update pre-disaster mitigation data for the Texas Department of Emergency Management and community agencies. The agencies don’t have time or workforce to do this or knowledge of the local areas- but the students do! And this gets them into STEM pipeline with mentors from government and high tech businesses who want to hire them. Plus, companies and academia can improve their research and development while expanding markets into emergency management.
